I'm not really the superhero type, though I help out where I can. Military technology - it's a wing pack kind of thing designed to help with pararescue ops, but the project got shelved.

The city was nice enough to grab me my pack from back home when I asked them politely.

Ha, that was part of the problem. We just got the usual fatigues and kevlar, all the budget went to those wings. We made for pretty good targets if we couldn't move fast enough.

It was... intense. But necessary, you know? Last one was in Afghanistan. I was with the 58th Rescue Squadron.

Yeah? I had to stop for a while until I could get my head back on straight. I ended up working at the VA in DC as a counselor. It helped a lot, most days.

Wasn't expecting to have to gear up again after that, but stuff came up.

Stuff does that. You think it might stop, but I just know guys who love getting into trouble.

I ran into mine pretty much on accident, but no regrets. He's a pretty stand-up guy. You're right though - he definitely attracts trouble.

God, I don't even want to imagine what kind of headache them meeting would cause.
