[ Okay, so maybe he shouldn't feel this jittery next to someone both younger and smaller than him, but he can't help himself in this situation. ]

[ At least she's not touching him! Yet. Of course, she sure is right there within touching distance. ]

I'm not sure if that was a figure of speech or an admission that you can hear it from your apartment sometimes when we have sex.

[ Just for that, she totally gets Sam trying to smother her with a throw pillow with one hand, though admittedly he's not trying too hard. Of course Escher thinks it's a game and tries to pounce on them both, so Sam has to fend him off both of them. ]

Please, it was totally figuratively speaking because I can tell just by looking at you guys how wily you can be.

[ She laughs, almost shrieking with it even when Escher decides to play; her phone nearly goes toppling off the couch, but it's saved at the last second. ]

but back to the question at hand- yes. I am hitting on you. should I keep going?

[ It takes a few moments to get everyone all settled again so that no one will end up falling off the couch, and Sam takes the time to catch his breath. ]

Well. I wouldn't exactly say no if you did.

[ Escher has slunk off to the kitchen after a stern look and some pointing from Ariadne, but getting resettled has involved Ariadne sitting closer. On purpose? Perhaps. ]

[ He can't help feeling a little guilty that Escher got banished to the kitchen. And maybe a little nervous because he doesn't have the Great Dane to hide behind anymore.

Still he doesn't seem to mind having Ariadne slide closer to him. ]

[ She stills, arm just barely brushing against his; she doesn't move any closer, is just close enough to tease. ]

[ He shoots Ariadne an amused, knowing look. ]

Messing with me, of course. Don't you deny it now.

[ She doesn't look at him, but there's a grin on her face. ]

is it messing with you if I have every intention of following through?

[ Even if she's not looking in his direction, Sam can just tell she knows he's pouting. Somehow. ]

It totally is because you're being mean and teasing me right now. That's the very definition of messing with someone.

You know. I don't think I'd mind that so much.

By which I mean, yes please.

[ Well then. Ariadne is just going to close the app and set her phone to the side, shifting on the couch so that she can look at Sam. ]

[ All right, Sam Wilson, you can totally do this. He looks up from his own phone to catch Ariadne's eye, smile turning just the slightest bit uncertain, though it warms after a few seconds.

Relaxing against the back of the couch, he nods at her. ]

Hey. [ His eyebrows arch playfully. ] Come here often?

[boutant]

[ And she laughs, shaking her head (though that's not an answer). ]

Must not be often enough, if I don't see you here all the time, [ she teases, nudging at his knee with her own. ]

[wingmate]

[ Sam grins at her, admiring the way she looks when she laughs and quietly noting that he should try to do that more often. ]

Oh, I don't know. I might be able to be convinced to come around more often. I think someone mentioned something about a kiss?

[boutant]

Someone did.

[ Ariadne grins back and shifts closer, reaching up to slide the back of her fingers against the line of his jaw. ]

Making me rush, Sam?

[ Sam doesn't shiver at the brush of Ariadne's fingers along his skin, but he's certainly acutely aware of how they feel. ]

I don't think anyone can really blame me if I'm a little impatient.

[ Especially considering that this is Ariadne. He leans into her touch, turning his face so he can press a quick kiss to the palm of her hand before his eyes catch hers again to gauge her reaction. ]

Yeah?

[boutant]

[ Oh, that's nice. Ariadne smiles at him, pleased, and more firmly cups the side of his face. ]

Yeah.

[ And with that settled, she leans in to kiss him. ]

[ He meets her halfway, allowing himself to be guided by her hand on his cheek. He's still not sure how much she'd let him get away with, so Sam lets her set the pace.

He's sure that whatever happens, he's not likely to regret that decision. ]

[boutant]

[ It's cold outside and she likes Sam, likes him a lot. She's probably not going to get busy with him on her couch while there are other people around, but- well. She'll let him get away with a fair amount.

Ariadne smiles against his mouth, pulls away just so that she can kiss him again, a little more confident this time. Her hand falls to his neck, stroking the skin there. ]

[ He's all too aware of the others in the apartment, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of necking, right?

He nips lightly at her bottom lip with just the barest hint of teeth before soothing that bit of hurt with a brush of his tongue. He shifts in his seat, turning his body more towards hers so that his hand can curl around her hip to urge her closer. ]

[ Nothing at all.

Oh, the hint of teeth is nice. Ariadne's moving closer almost before he's even urging her, her other hand stroking up his side as she lightly nips back at Sam's mouth. ]

[ His free hand comes up to cup her cheek, fingers brushing experimentally against her jawline and the skin behind her ear.

He makes a soft noise in the back of his throat as she nips at him in retaliation, but it's obvious he doesn't mind. Tentatively, he deepens the kiss, tasting her briefly before retreating back a little. ]
